Midweek Matters

Taggart Time?

Glory Head Coach Kenny Lowe has hinted that Adam Taggart could return to action in Friday’s home clash with Adelaide United.

The Socceroos striker has been sidelined since the last time Glory faced the Reds in Round 5 after tearing a hamstring, but has shown steady improvement in recent weeks.

“Taggs will go close,” said Lowe. “He’s worked really hard on his recovery and is chomping at the bit to get back out there. As long as he’s ok during the remaining sessions we have this week, we hope to be able to include him in the match day squad.”

Taggart has scored three goals so far this term and has also found the net three times in ten career appearances against Adelaide.

Midfielder Jake Brimmer, meanwhile, may also feature after shaking off the cork that ruled him out of last week’s trip to Sydney.

Ready for the Reds

Kenny Lowe’s side will be seeking to extend a four-match unbeaten run against the Reds, a run which includes three wins and a draw.

And Glory will also be defending the best defensive home record in the league this season having conceded only five goals in five games thus far.

The visitors, however, have won three of their last five on the road, including a notable triumph over rivals Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium in Round 10.

Family Fun!

Don’t forget that kids go FREE* to Friday’s game and the Go For 2&5 Kids’ Zone will be in full effect.

Set for City

Glory’s Westfield W-League side return to action on Saturday with another blockbuster, this time against reigning champions Melbourne City.

Last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Brisbane Roar saw Bobby Despotovski’s side slip to fourth on the ladder, but with only five points separating the top five, the race for the Premiership is very much still on.

Kerr v WSW

Skipper Sam Kerr is expected to feature for Glory at CB Smith Reserve after missing the Roar defeat for family reasons.

There remains a possibility that the game may be moved back to its original date of Sunday 6th January due to the hot weather expected in Melbourne on Saturday, but as it stands, it will be a 2pm kick-off on Saturday.

Going for Glory!

The Perth Glory Powerchair Team set to compete in this month’s APFA Club Championship has been named.

Jason Lewis will lead the side which is made up of Pat Edmonds, Dylan Needham (Vice-Captain), Jakob Ratnayeke, Justin Newman and Anthony Ambrosini, along with Coach Cindy Evans.

The tournament gets underway in Sydney on January 15th and we’ll keep you up to date with how the guys get on via the Glory website and social media channels.
