We’ve stretched the definition of ‘midweek’ just a touch to include Thursday as we wrap up all the latest news coming out of Glory HQ…

Third pre-season outing confirmed

Nick D'Agostino v Bayswater City

Glory’s preparations for the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season are set to continue next Tuesday (July 23rd) with a trip to Dorrien Gardens to take on Perth SC.

The clash with the Azzurri follows last week’s games against Bayswater City and Manchester United which yielded a 3-0 win and a 2-0 defeat respectively.

Kick-off time on Tuesday is at 7pm and admission is FREE.

Under-20s up for the Cup

Glory giant flag

The PGFC Academy Under-20s NPL WA side will be looking to get their hands on some silverware this Saturday (July 20th) when they take on Cockburn City in the Belt Up State League Reserves Cup Final at Dorrien Gardens.

The youngsters enjoyed a thumping 7-2 win over Armadale in the semis, having earlier accounted for Floreat, Bayswater and Joondalup United in what has been a tough run to the Final.

Kick-off time on Saturday is 12.30pm and it’s well worth sticking around for the Belt Up Cup Grand Final which will see Floreat taking on Bayswater at 3pm.

International glory beckons for Academy players

United v Glory - Kristian Popovic

In further good news for the club’s two-star Academy, a raft of its players have this week been selected for national team duty.

Bryce Bafford, Jackson Lee and Kristian Popovic are all set to take part in a Young Socceroos camp with a view to making the final squad of 23 for next month’s 2019 AFF U-18 Championship in Vietnam.

Sebastian Gomez, Joshua Rawlins and Aiki Tsukamoto, meanwhile, have been named in the Australia Under-15 squad for the upcoming 2019 AFF U-15 Championship and Daniel and Nick Walsh, along with Trent Ostler have spent this week at a Joeys training camp.
