Midfielder Martis signs on for the 2023/24 ALM season

Perth Glory is delighted to announce that midfielder Antonis Martis has been signed for the Isuzu UTE A-League 2023/24 season after impressing during a pre-season trial spell with the club.

The 23-year-old Sydneysider’s previous A-League experience came with Macarthur FC for whom he made 23 appearances while on loan from leading Danish club Midtjylland between 2020 and 2022.

A former captain of the Australia Under-16 side, Martis also plied his trade in the Cypriot top flight having previously represented the island nation at Under-19 level.

He is now excited to be linking up with Glory for the forthcoming campaign.

“I’m happy to be joining Perth and can’t wait to work with [Head Coach] Alen Stajcic and his team,” he said.

“It’s a great opportunity for me and the team has been forming up well with all the new signings, so it’s been exciting.

“Personally, I just want to contribute as much as I can individually and achieve things collectively as a squad and I feel that we have the team to do so.”

Stajcic, meanwhile, believes that Martis will prove to be an important member of the playing group.

“Antonis has shown his technical capabilities in the A-League previously,” he said.

“His resilience and persistence are admirable qualities and his addition will add great depth to our central midfield stocks.”
