As Glory battled Sydney FC at HBF Park a fortnight ago, it was the activities of Match Day Sponsor, Theme Group which warmed the hearts of the club’s Members and fans.
While the Theme Group Challenge of ‘who can eat a wrap the fastest’ and generous prizes were popular, there was more to this purposeful partnership.
An inspiring group of children from Little Lions, a local provider of allied health services for kids, representing Theme Group, accompanied the players onto the field and then made the most of an opportunity to play on the field at half-time.
As the organisation name implies, these children embody the traits of a lion, overcoming obstacles with courage and kicking goals through speech therapy and occupational therapy – as well as on the pitch at half-time!
Glory CEO Anthony Radich said the club was delighted to have Theme Group onboard as a Match Day Sponsor, with children from Little Lions making an impact as mascots.
“This is an example of like-minded organisations working together to create a memorable match day experience for families and fans alike,” he said.
Non-Executive Director of Theme Group Stefan Damjanovic, meanwhile, said that this underscores the company’s commitment to ‘enhance the experience’ for everyone.
“Beyond commercial catering and cleaning solutions, our commitment to giving back to the community is at the heart of Theme Group,” he said, “and we are delighted to support the valuable work of Little Lions.
Managing Director of Little Lions, Nathan Keehan added that this memorable experience was a dream come true for many of the children.
“It was truly rewarding to see joy on the faces of these inspiring families, with one mother saying that her son will remember the experience forever,” he said.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Perth Glory and Theme Group in bringing this purposeful partnership to life, for the benefit of the families, the football community, and beyond.”
