Meet US import Alyssa Mautz


Before one of our star imports heads east with the team this weekend to take on Newcastle Jets, here are 19 things you may not know about US star Alyssa Mautz.

1. Alyssa was born in a town named O’Fallon, Missouri, on July 29th, 1989.


2. Mautz dominated High School soccer. She scored 133 goals during her time at Fort Zumwalt West High School, the fifth most in Missouri girls soccer history.

3. Mautz won ten straight titles with the St. Louis Soccer Club.


4. Alyssa attended Texas A&M University. During her time at the University, she was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Player of the Week, Big 12 Player of the Week, and was selected for the All-Big 12 first team and the Big 12 All-Tournament team.

5. Mautz plays for the Chicago Red Stars and is on loan from the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club. Mautz won silver in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Elite National Championship and was the 36th overall pick in the 2013 NWSL Supplemental Draft when the NWSL was formed.

6. Mautz played for Russian Women’s Football Championship side Zorky.

7. Alyssa was a member of the US U20 side that won the 2008 World Cup in Chile.

8. Mautz played alongside current United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) stars Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux during her time with the U20’s side.

9. Alyssa has also represented the United States in the U23’s team.


10. Mautz and fellow Glory star Vanessa DiBernardo are teammates at Chicago Red Stars and remain close friends.
