Perth Glory can confirm that Ninja A-League utility player Tijan McKenna has departed the club to join leading Norwegian side Valerenga Fotball Damer (VFD).
The 21-year-old Perth local racked up more than 50 ALW appearances for Glory, with her two spells in purple bookending a Premiership-winning year at Melbourne City.
McKenna duly secured more silverware last term as her stellar form across several positions was rewarded with the 2026 Most Glorious Player Award and Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis was not surprised that she was presented with an overseas offer.
“Obviously it’s disappointing to lose a player of Tijan’s quality and versatility,” he said, “but she wants to make that next step into European football and we understand that.
“She is a fantastic person who genuinely loves the club and we really appreciate the contribution she has made to Perth Glory on and off the field in her two spells here.
“VFD are an absolute powerhouse in Norwegian football having won the title twice in the last three years and I’m sure Tijan will enjoy testing herself in a new competition and new environment.
“On behalf of everyone associated with the club, I’d like to thank her and wish her all the very best in the next chapter of her career.”
Further ALW squad announcements will be made shortly.
