Match Preview: Lowe targets “right reaction”

Kenny Lowe is confident that his side will bounce back against Adelaide United at nib Stadium on Friday (kick off at 7pm).

Glory’s Head Coach revealed that a lengthy review of last weekend’s defeat at Sydney FC had taken place and that he is expecting a positive reaction from his charges in the clash with the Reds.

“You’ve got to reflect on games like that and we did probably the most video analysis that we’ve done on any game since we’ve been here,” he said.

“Sometimes out of adversity, good things occur and we’ve got a chance now very quickly to put a performance in to eradicate the memory of that [Sydney FC game].

“No side should lose 6-0 and that wasn’t acceptable, but it’s great that we have a chance to put it right on Friday and that’s been our focus heading into the game. I’m confident that we’ll get the right reaction.

“If we win this, we’ll have won three of the last four and then another victory on Tuesday and it’s four out of five which changes the dynamic of things.

“Wins change things, so first and foremost we have to put a performance in and get the three points.”

Glory will, of course, be without Brandon Wilson on Friday due to the midfielder being away on international duty, but Jake Brimmer could return to the squad after shaking off the cork that ruled him out of the Sydney FC clash.

Adam Taggart is also set to be involved for the first time since Glory’s Round 5 victory over the Reds and 15-year-old defender Riley Warland could feature again on the bench.
