Livewire winger Wales extends stay with Glory

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that Lachie Wales has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 27-year-old winger joined Glory in January on a short-term deal and made an immediate impression as he scored on debut against Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium.

He went on to make a further six appearances in purple, claiming two assists.

Prior to arriving in the West, the former Australia Under-23 international featured in nearly 180 games for Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne City and Western United and played a key role in helping the latter claim the ALM Championship in 2022.

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that Wales will have a key role to play next season.

“Even though he’s only been with us for a short period of time, Lachie has already become a big favourite with our Members and fans,” he said, “and it’s not hard to see why.

“He’s quick and direct, versatile enough to fill a number of attacking roles and provides great delivery from wide areas.

“With a full pre-season under his belt, we’re confident that he’ll be firing on all cylinders come Round One and will re-establish himself as one of the most exciting attacking talents in the A-League.”

Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
