Leader and Anasmo on target in win over Perth SC

Goals from Jayden Leader and Josh Anasmo steered the PGFC Academy First Team to an impressive 2-0 win over Perth SC in Saturday’s NPL WA clash at E&D Litis Reserve.

Glory went into the game buoyed by a 5-1 victory over Armadale SC in their previous outing and although Shubham Mokala drew an early save from Adrian Sinagra, it was Kenny Lowe’s side who looked the most likely from the off.

They duly hit front 32 minutes in, Anasmo getting away down the left after some patient approach play in midfield and delivering a low cross which found its way to Leader who calmly slid the ball home.

Perth SC responded well to the setback and looked threatening towards the end of the half and Sinagra was again called into action, this time producing an impressive double save to keep out efforts from Mokala and Hasani Sinclair.

Glory took full advantage of that let-off five minutes into the second half by bagging a second goal, Lucas Rossi driving forward and releasing Daniel Bennie whose cross was clipped past Luke Radonich in the Perth goal by Anasmo.

George almost made it 3-0 moments later, Radonich doing well to keep his shot out and Anasmo then fired narrowly wide having raced clear on goal.

Perth SC did apply some late pressure, but only managed to seriously test Sinagra again on one occasion and the Glory ‘keeper reacted well to prevent Will Gordon’s shot from squeezing in at the near post.

The First Team’s victory completed a clean sweep on the day with the Under-18s winning 2-1, courtesy of goals from Jack Overy and Louis Sollitt, while Christian Belladonna claimed a hat-trick and Seb Despotosvski and Daniel Adesina also found the net as the Under-20s cruised home 5-2.

Next weekend will see the Under-18s take on Bayswater City in the State Cup Final at Inglewood Stadium (kick-off on Sunday TBC), while the Under-20s and First Team will have a break from NPL WA action.
