Latest friendly clash ends all square

Glory’s third pre-season outing and their first against A-League opposition, saw them battle out a 0-0 draw with Central Coast Mariners behind closed doors in Gosford.

In blustery conditions, it was the hosts who created the first chance as Liam Reddy proved equal to a strike from Michael Ruhs, before Ryan Williams and Stefan Colakovski were both narrowly off-target at the other end.

Clear-cut chances were thin on ground before the break, but the early stages of the second half saw a flurry of action as the Mariners’ Brian Kaltak went close with a header and Reddy was again called into action, this time to foil Jason Cummings.

With Ruben Zadkovich using all ten of his substitutes in the final half-hour and the Mariners also making a raft of changes, the game lost some of its rhythm, although Glory came close to claiming victory right at the death when Keegan Jelacic was teed up by fellow-substitute Joseph Forde and unleashed a powerful shot which was well saved by Yaren Sozer.
