Key midfielders back on board for 2024/25 ALW campaign

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that key midfielders Georgia Cassidy and Isobel Dalton will again be a part of the club’s ALW squad for the 2024/25 season.

19-year-old Cassidy made a seamless transition to senior football in what was her debut campaign last year, featuring on 19 occasions and claiming her maiden ALW assist in the Round 3 win over Canberra United.

The Young Matildas representative completed 75% of her 559 attempted passes, while also winning 24 tackles and registering 13 blocks.

Dalton, meanwhile, also made 19 appearances last term to take her ALW career tally past the 40-mark and opened her goalscoring account in the competition with a stunning strike in the home draw against Canberra United.

The 26-year-old former Napoli and Lewes player completed close to 80% of her attempted passes and won 18 tackles.

Glory Head Coach Stephen Peters is backing both players to play key roles once again this year.

“Georgia adapted so quickly to the step up in level from NPL to ALW and was one of the very best young midfielders in the competition last season,” he said.

“It’s fantastic to see another local WA player seizing her opportunity with her hometown club and we’re very excited to see Georgia continue to progress in 2024/25.

“Izzy was a stalwart in midfield for the club last term and brings an invaluable level of experience having played extensively both in England and here in Australia.

“She provides a composed presence in a key area of the pitch, plus a real goal threat with her long-range shooting and will continue to be an important player for us going forward.”

Further signing announcements will be made shortly.
