Perth Glory is delighted to announce that key defender Charbel Shamoon has signed a new deal which extends his contract with the club until June 2028.

The former Western United man joined Glory ahead of the 2025/26 ALM campaign and after making his first start in Round 3, locked down the right-back position for the rest of the season, eventually racking up 25 appearances.
The 22-year-old also scored his first ALM goal with a fine finish in the Round 6 win over Macarthur FC and his stellar performances in purple thrust him into contention for a place in the Iraq national squad.
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis has been very impressed by the contribution Shamoon has made since arriving at Glory.
“Charbel has very quickly become one of our key defenders,” he said “and was a standout performer in his first season with us.
“Once he got his opportunity, he took it and was very good for us both defensively and pushing forward to provide another option in attack.
“He’s very level-headed, with a great work ethic and I’m confident he’ll keep on improving and be a really important player for us in the seasons ahead.”
Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
