Perth Glory FC is excited to announce star defender Scott Jamieson has signed for a further two years with the Hyundai A-League leaders.
Sydney born Jamieson, arrived at Perth Glory in 2012 and this season has played every game after returning from an achilles injury which ruled him out for most of last year. The 26-year old has signed on for a further two years with the option of an additional year. The deal means one of the best and talented left backs in the country could be playing in ‘Purple’ until the end of the 2017/18 season.
“I’ve settled in well here in the past couple of years and I’ve always said Perth is a beautiful place so I’m very happy to be staying” Jamieson said.
“The team has made a great start to the season and my goal now is help the team to finish strongly at the top of the league, qualify for the Asian Champions League, but above all win the Premier’s plate” he said.
Jamieson made national headlines this season after scoring a sensational free-kick in what is regarded as one of the best goals of the season, against the Western Sydney Wanderers in front of more than 12-thousand screaming home fans.
“I definitely want to see those fans buzzing again, so I’ll be doing my best to knock them in when I can“ he said.
Meantime, Jack Clisby and Perth Glory FC have mutually agreed to terminate the young defender’s contract immediately, to allow the 22-year old to pursue alternate football opportunities.
Clisby joined the Hyundai A-League leaders in 2013, making 28 appearances for his home town club.
“First of all I’d like to thank the fans and supporters for their continued loyalty. It’s been a difficult decision to leave a club at the top of the table but I feel this is the best for my career going forward” Clisby said.
Glory will host Melbourne Victory on January 25 at nib stadium.
