Perth Glory’s favorite son, Jamie Harnwell is set to become the club’s record games holder on Friday night when he overtakes Bobby Desptovski’s mark of 241 games.

In a massive milestone for Jamie and Perth Glory, the club has been flooded with tributes for the veteran defender.

BOBBY DESPOTOVSKI, PERTH GLORY RECORD GOAL SCORER

“Congratulations, it is good for Jamie, he-s worked hard all these years and now he-s the longest serving player in the club-s history.

“If I wanted anyone to beat my record it’s Jamie.

“He achieved everything he has because he believed in himself and gave everything every time he stepped out on the park.”

PAUL KELLY, PERTH GLORY CEO

“It-s fantastic for Jamie and also well done to Bobby who-s held the record for so long.

“It-s well deserved for Jamie who has been a stalwart of the club for many years.

“I-ve been around for 15 years and it feels like Jamie has also been around for that time, a wonderful achievement!”

DAVE MITCHELL, PERTH GLORY COACH

It-s great because Jamie is Perth Glory through and through.

“Jamie has captained the club, won championships, been here since he was a young boy and loves the club.

“These days a lot of players change clubs but Jamie has been the heart and soul of Perth Glory and it-s great he will break the record.”

JACOB BURNS, PERTH GLORY CAPTAIN

“I’ve known Jamie for years. I played against him in the old NSL days, I think he was playing when there was black-and-white TV back then.

“It’s a fantastic achievement for him and he’s a club man, the supporters love him and he’s fantastic to have around the club and he’s been on fire.

“He’s been in very good form and he’s stepped up (to hold a central defensive position). He’s got heavy competition in his place but it’s a wonderful achievement for a fantastic pro.

“To beat Bobby’s record is a great achievement. (Hopefully) he not only breaks it this week but goes on to play most of the season and who knows what can happen after that.”

STEVE McGARRY, PERTH GLORY MIDFIELDER

“It-s a fantastic achievement for Jamie.

“For someone to be affiliated with a club for so long is a great honour and hopefully we can make it a win to remember on Friday night.”

VICTOR SIKORA, PERTH GLORY FORWARD

“It-s a big achievement for Jamie and the club.

Bobby held the record for a long time and now it-s passed onto Jamie who really deserves it.”
