ISUZU UTE A-League 2022-23 Season fixtures released

A-Leagues have today released the fixtures for the ISUZU UTE A-League 2022-23 Season.

Glory will begin their campaign with two away trips, the first being a game against Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday 9 October and the second, a meeting with Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday 15 October.

The first home fixture for Ruben Zadkovich’s men, meanwhile, is slated for Sunday 23 October when Central Coast Mariners will be the visitors to Joondalup’s HBF Arena which will provide Glory with a temporary home while renovations to HBF Park are completed.

In total, the club is scheduled to play four games at the northern suburbs venue, against the Mariners, Brisbane Roar (Sunday 13 November), Western United (Saturday 10 December) and Wellington Phoenix (TBC), ahead of a return to HBF Park on Friday 6 January (v Western Sydney Wanderers).

Other highlights of the fixture list include three consecutive weekend home games in January and two more back-to-back weekend home matches to round off the regular-season campaign in late April.

The 2022/23 season will include a break for the FIFA World Cup from mid-November until early December and a FIFA International break in late March.

The Finals are set to get underway in the first week of May, with the Grand Final scheduled for June 1st.

Glory CEO Tony Pignata welcomed the prospect of a return to a regular home and away schedule following the massive fixture disruption wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic since the second half of the 2019/2020 campaign.

“It will be fantastic for the club to be able to play 13 home matches in Perth having suffered so badly over the last couple of years,” he said.

“Being forced to relocate temporarily away from HBF Park is not ideal, but the circumstances are beyond the club’s control and we are certainly looking forward to what we know will be four fantastic match days in Joondalup.

“We are also pleased to see that the fixture list does not include any midweek home games which we know are very unpopular with our Members and fans.

“The release of the fixtures always makes the start of the season seem that much closer and I’m sure everyone associated with the club is excited at what lies ahead.”
