International recognition for Glory quartet

Glory A-League Men’s trio Adam Taggart, Oli Sail and Cameron Cook are set to join A-League Women’s starlet Georgia Cassidy on the international stage later this month.

Midfielder Cassidy has spent the last three weeks in Uzbekistan as part of the Young Matildas squad which reached the last four of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup.

Following their defeat at the hands of Japan in this week’s semi-final, the youngsters will take on Korea Republic in Saturday’s third-place play-off in Tashkent.

The game will be shown live and FREE on 10Play at 4pm WST.

Adam Taggart, meanwhile, has been rewarded for his stellar form in purple with a recall to Graham Arnold’s Socceroos squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Lebanon.

The men in green and gold, who are currently top of Group I, will play at Sydney’s CommBank Stadium on Thursday 21 March (5.10pm WST kick-off, live on 10 Bold, 10 Play and Paramount+) and then GIO Stadium on Canberra on Tuesday 26 March (4.45pm WST kick-off, live on 10 Bold, 10 Play and Paramount+).

Also representing Australia, this time at Olyroos level, will be Cameron Cook who has been selected for the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-23 Championship – Saudi Arabia 2024.

The tournament, which will be played in Al Hofuf, Saudi Arabia from 18 to 26 March, will feature Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Korea Republic, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

And Cook’s fellow-‘keeper, Oli Sail is heading in a similar direction as part of the New Zealand squad which is set to participate in the W-Cup in Cairo, Egypt.

The All Whites will face two of Croatia, Egypt and Tunisia between Saturday 23 and Tuesday 26 March.
