Glory’s pre-season campaign continues on Thursday night with a trip to Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium to take on Inglewood United (Kick-off at 7pm).
The squad have continued to put in the hard yards on the training ground since returning from Malaysia some three weeks ago and midfielder Brandon Wilson feels that he and his colleagues are itching for a game.
“We’re really looking forward to Thursday night,” he said. “It’s a great chance to put into practice what we’ve been working on during training.
“The two matches we played over in Malaysia seem a while ago now and speaking personally, I can’t wait to hopefully get some more game-time under my belt.
“The intensity and tempo at training continues to be super-high and we’ll look to take that into this game and produce a quality performance.
“Inglewood are always there or thereabouts at the top end of the NPL table and I’m sure they’ll give us a good test.”
Glory have enjoyed a largely successful pre-season campaign thus far, adding two resounding wins in Malaysia to comfortable victories over Perth SC, Gwelup Croatia and the WA State Team, with the only friendly defeat coming at the hands of EPL giants Chelsea.
The hosts, meanwhile, will head into Thursday’s clash having ended the regular NPL WA season in fifth spot, missing out on the Top Four Cup by a single point.
Players worth looking out for in their ranks include prolific striker Alex Salmon who bagged 17 goals this year and clever forwards Kenny Keogh [brother of Glory’s Andy] and Ashley Rosindale.
Admission on Thursday night is FREE, so do get along and lend the lads your support if you can.
If you can’t get to Inglewood, however, we will be providing full coverage on Twitter HERE.
