Perth Glory will kick off their 2014 pre-season campaign tomorrow evening when they take on NPLWA side, Inglewood United, for the inaugural Kramer Memorial Cup at Intiga Stadium, KO 7pm.

The match is to be held in honour of Siggy Kramer, who sadly passed away last week. Mr Kramer started as a goalkeeper with Inglewood Kiev in 1953 and later became the club-s coach before becoming the club president in 1994. He was president of the club for 19 years and has left a lasting legacy on Football in WA.

Mr Kramer also served as a board member for the Professional Soccer League (1998-2001) and Soccer Association of WA (2000-01) and his service to the development of football was recognised in 2003 by the Australian Government, who bestowed upon him the Centenary Medal, a year after his induction into the “Football Hall of Fame WA” Hall of Recognition. Last year, he was awarded Football West Life Membership and it is fitting that Glory-s first preseason game this season is against Inglewood, with the teams playing for the Kramer Memorial Cup.

The game will also be the first chance for the fans to see the recruitment drive by Glory, whose signings include Andy Keogh, Richard Garcia, Dino Djulbic, Mitch Nichols, Youssouf Hersi , Ruben Zadkovich and Diogo Ferreira. Former Inglewood defender Jack Clisby is also part of the Glory squad.
