Impressive Academy youngsters keep Night Series semis hopes alive

The PGFC Academy First Team remain firmly in the mix to clinch a berth in the semi-finals of the 2025 NPL WA Night Series after battling back from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw with Olympic Kingsway on Friday evening.

Goals from former Glory duo Jayden Gorman and Lebib Lebib looked to have put the reigning NPL Champions in control at Dorrien Gardens, but Joe Heath’s side showed great resolve to earns a share of the spoils courtesy of an effort from Max Naylor and an own-goal.

That draw sets up a winner-takes-all final group stage game against Armadale SC at Alfred Skeet Reserve on Sunday (kick-off at 7:30pm).

Armadale are currently two points above both Glory and Bayswater City, with the latter facing Fremantle City on Friday evening.

Should Bayswater win, Glory would need to beat Armadale and maintain their currently superior goal difference (+1 to -1) in order to progress to the last four along with Olympic Kingsway.

Victory by any margin, meanwhile, would be enough to send the home side through and a draw would also suffice should Bayswater fail to get the better of Fremantle.

It is shaping up to be a big evening of Night Series football, so do get along to support the lads at Alfred Skeet Reserve if you can.
