Brisbane Roar 1-2 Wellington Phoenix

Wellington kept their finals hopes alive with a shock win over the battle-weary Roar at Suncorp. A goal in each half to Shane Smeltz and Roy Krishna were enough to get the Kiwi side home, earning some respct back after for 5-1 defeat at home just seven days earlier.

Melbourne Victory 2-1 Adelaide United

More fabulous entertainment at AAMI Park! It took until midway through the second half for Victory to break Adelaide’s resistance, with some Rojas brilliance and a 50th goal in Big V colours for Berisha ensured maximum points for Kevin Muscat’s troops as they stay in the Premiership race behind Sydney FC by eight points.

Perth Glory 2-0 Western Sydney Wanderers

Glory’s late-season surge gained further momentum with a dominant win over the Wanderers in the west. Diego Castro set up both goals – which came in stoppage-time at the end of both halves – in a win that see Kenny Lowe’s men jump from fifth spot to third on the A-League ladder.

Newcastle Jets 1-1 Central Coast Mariners

There was nothing splitting these F3 rivals as the Mariners came from behind to take a point in a typically intense derby. It was a sixth straight draw between these two in the Hunter, with Wanderers happiest with this result as it didn’t help either either side in their quest to make the top six.
