Glory fans can look forward to seeing one of their favourites running around again this Sunday after Coach Dave Mitchell declared Jamie Harnwell ready take his place in the line-up.
Harnwell was close to playing last week but he was given an extra week to recover from a hip injury and Mitchell said the utility player was feeling great and has been a standout on the training track.
“He is a real competitor and leader, it will be nice to have him back,” Mitchell said.
Just where he lines-up is still a mystery with Mitchell having the option of using Harnwell in attack where he is always dangerous or alternatively at the back to give the defence another experienced head.
“If he-s at the back or up front the great thing about Jamie is that he-ll give you everything he-s got,” Mitchell said.
Harnwell made his name as a no nonsense defender before reinventing himself as an attacking force, leading the club-s goal scoring in the past two seasons.
“Jamie is more than a handful when thrown forward and having the flexibility of playing him at either end of the ground is a terrific advantage for us. No doubt he-ll play an important role this weekend against the Phoenix,” said Mitchell.
