Day Two
The Sunshine State failed to live up to its name today, but the Glory players were grateful for the glowering skies and chilly breeze as they were put through a gruelling on-field morning session.
Before the action got underway, Ivan Franjic was on media duty, fielding questions from several local TV crews about the Surf City Cup, Glory’s training camp and his time with Brisbane Roar.
Adem Poric, CEO of The Magic Group which has organised the Surf City Cup, was also on hand outlining his hope that a successful tournament will help press the Gold Coast’s case for having a team return to the Hyundai A-League in the near future.
The focus moved to the gym in the afternoon where the players were split into three groups for their respective workouts.
But Liam Reddy still managed to round up some teammates to help him promote the fantastic Jersey Day initiative which raises awareness of The Organ and Tissue Authority and the Donate Life network.

Tonight’s dinner then featured another two new recruits serenading the rest of the group with their initiation songs and to their credit, both Nick D’Agostino and Dane Ingham did well, the latter improving so rapidly from a tentative start that he was even throwing in dance moves by the end.
With plenty of players on their first Glory trip, the musical interludes look set to continue deep into our stay here on the Gold Coast.
