The Perth Glory Youth Team will look to continue their unbeaten run on the road this season when they tackle Adelaide at Hindmarsh Stadium on Sunday.
Glory is two for two on the road, with wins against Central Coast and Melbourne, and will be hoping to continue that form to consolidate their place in the top four.
The young West Aussies were undone at home last weekend in an enthralling eight goal clash (3-5 against Sydney) and Coach Gareth Naven said the team had looked at several areas for improvement in preparation for Sunday-s big game.
“The competition is about improving individual performance and we-ve looked at our last match and worked on things we can do to achieve that,” Naven said.
“We-ve challenged our players to take on each match, each training session, with an enthusiasm that reflects the opportunity they-ve been given and they-ve always responded very well,” added Naven.
Perth will take plenty of firepower into the match as they welcome back dangerous striker Anthony Skorich and attacking midfielder Ludovic Boi. The scoring not just falling to that pair with midfielder Andrija Jukic keen to add to his tally after a stunning hat-trick last weekend.
“I-ve only scored a hat-trick once before and that was when I was really young, in a junior competition,” Jukic said.
“To be able to do it in front of the home supporters was fantastic but I-m just concentrating on our next match now.
“It will be tough coming up against Adelaide on their home ground but we-ve shown we can win away from home so we just need to take that confidence into this game and we-ll have a good crack at it,” said Jukic.
The round five clash kicks off at 12.15pm Perth time as a curtain raiser to the Hyundai A-League clash between Glory and Adelaide at 3.00pm.
