Presented by Zambrero, the high-profile clash with Tony Popovic’s side is set to cap off an exciting three-day program of football events in the town which will include a children’s holiday clinic run by Glory’s Community Department, an opportunity for the local football community to attend open training sessions and meet the Glory and Victory players, plus a civic reception.

Full details of the Hay Park Holiday Clinic can be found HERE.

The friendly will mark the third time that Glory have taken a fixture to Bunbury in recent years following two hugely-successful visits made by the club’s Women’s team in 2017 and 2019 and club CEO Anthony Radich was quick to thank City of Bunbury for supporting the event once again.

“We are extremely excited to be returning to Bunbury,” he said.

“There was a fantastic level of engagement with the local community on our previous visits and we believe that they will be similarly enthused by the presence of our A-League Men’s squad this year, particularly as we will be facing one of the competition’s most successful and highest-profile clubs in Melbourne Victory.

“Glory have enjoyed so many thrilling showdowns with Victory over the years and we’re expecting more of the same at Hay Park on October 1st.

“Strengthening our brand presence and raising our profile in regional WA is one of the club’s key strategic priorities and we would like to thank City of Bunbury for being so proactive in making this fantastic program of events possible.

“We look forward to connecting and engaging with the local community throughout our time in Bunbury and would love to see as many of our Members and fans from Perth and other parts of WA as possible also heading along to the game”

Those sentiments were echoed by City of Bunbury Mayor, Jaysen Miguel, who said he was excited to welcome Perth Glory back to Bunbury.

“Thank you to Perth Glory for choosing our beautiful city to yet again host a game; it truly is testament to our amazing sporting facilities, attractions, hospitality offerings and supportive community,” he said.

“Not only will our community have the chance to see some of the country’s best football players battle it out at Hay Park, but they’ll also get the opportunity to attend an open training session and holiday clinic.

“I’m so excited to host Glory for what will be a great weekend in Bunbury and I encourage our community to take advantage.”

Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie, said it was a great opportunity for the men’s squad to be travelling to Western Australia over the pre-season.

“We’re incredibly excited to be travelling to Western Australia in October to take on Perth Glory at Hay Park in Bunbury and then again at Dorrien Gardens in Perth,” she said.

“This promises to be a great football event for all Western Australian football fans and an opportunity for the team to test out the squad against another quality A-league side ahead of the 2023/24 season.

“We look forward to visiting WA and enjoying what the region has to offer.”

Details of the second Glory friendly against Melbourne Victory, which is set to take place at Perth SC’s Dorrien Gardens on Wednesday 4 October 2023, will be made available shortly.
