Perth Glory Women earned a vital road point on Sunday evening against Adelaide United at Adelaide Shores Football Centre in RD 8 of the Westfield W-League, the final score 1-1.
Glory opened the scoring in the 7th minute, midfielder Shawn Billam firing a header past Adelaide ‘keeper Kaitlyn Savage following a Nikki Stanton corner kick.
Lauren Steer looked like she might score in the 11th, however her shot hit the crossbar.
Allira Toby and Sarah Killion combined for chances in the 27th and 29th, both shots easily collected by Glory goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold.
Perth applied the early pressure in the 2nd half with Caitlin Foord creating dangerous scoring opportunities, only to be denied by the Adelaide defence.
In the 75th Alex Gummer equalised directly from a corner kick.
All level, the match continued at a frantic pace with Foord giving everything in an attempt to claim back the lead.
With seven minutes remaining in regular time, Glory midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo was awarded a free-kick that just missed high of the crossbar.
The final chance of the match came for Perth in added time with a free-kick awarded to Kim Carroll, however Savage did well to save it.
With the point Glory Women remain level with Western Sydney Wanderers on eight points each, in seventh place on the ladder.
Glory Women returns to Ashfield Reserve on Sunday hosting Sydney FC, while Adelaide United plays away to Canberra United on December 12.
