Glory snap up young gun Sulemani

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that exciting young forward Arion Sulemani has signed a two-year deal with the club.

A product of the highly-regarded Melbourne City Academy, the 20-year-old signed his first professional contract with City in 2023 and made his A-League debut against Newcastle Jets in Round One of last season.

He went on to feature eight times over the course of the campaign which culminated in City being crowned ALM Champions.

The Australia Under-20 international is now relishing the prospect of taking the next step in his career with Glory.

“The main reason I wanted this move was to get consistent game time,” he said, “and with the club backing my ability 100% through [Football Director] Stan Lazaridis and the Head Coach [David Zdrilic], it was a no-brainer for me as a player to come to Perth.

“When the club backs you fully as a player, it makes you so much more confident in your ability to play.

“With the team, the signings the club has made and the direction it wants to go in, I feel like this season will be unreal and I can’t wait to meet the boys and get working in pre-season.

“Personally, I’d love to play consistently, score goals and learn as much as I can from players like Adam Taggart.

“I just can’t wait to start working and having a good season next year.

“I’m very confident in next season’s success.”

Glory Football Director, Stan Lazaridis, believes that Sulemani is a gifted young prospect who will flourish at the club.

Arion is a quick, powerful striker with good feet who will provide us with another great option up top,” he said.

“His profile really suits David Zdrilic’s preferred style and we feel he has a very high ceiling as a player.

“Arion found himself vying for gametime with some superstar players at City, but we believe that he could be ready for a breakout season here at Glory and we’re really looking forward to helping him fulfil his potential.”

Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
