Glory snap up prolific WA striker Jacobsz

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that prolific striker Pieter Jacobsz has joined the club’s A-League Men’s squad on a one-year deal.

The 25-year-old West Australian has dominated the NPL WA in recent years, securing the Golden Boot in both 2024 and 2025 with Armadale SC and then claiming it again this season while representing Perth Azzurri.

Across those three seasons, the gifted target-man scored more than 60 goals and he is now looking forward to stepping up to the A-League with Glory.

“I firstly want to give all the glory to God, he has blessed me to be here,” he said.

“It’s an honour to be signing for Perth Glory.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play professional football and to do it in my home city makes it that much more special.

“I am more ready than ever to take on this opportunity and plan to make a mark on the A-League from the beginning.

“I hope to score plenty of goals and win games and I’m confident that with the team we have, we’ll be doing that and pushing for the league.

“I want to thank everyone at Glory who has welcomed me with open arms and I look forward to our time together.

“I want to thank my wife for her love and support through everything.

“I also want to thank my parents for all they’ve done to get me here, from driving to and from training and games, to encouraging me through all the ups and downs.

“And finally, I’d like to thank all my family, friends, players and coaches that have been part of my footballing journey.

“I love and appreciate you all.”

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis is confident that Jacobsz has what it takes to score goals at A-League level.

“Pieter’s record in the NPL WA is simply phenomenal,” he said.

“We’re always monitoring the best local players with a view to bringing them on board and Pieter has certainly been a standout performer here in WA over a sustained period of time.

“He’s a physically powerful striker who can hold the ball up and bring others into play, but he can also get in behind and is a very high-quality finisher who scores all kinds of different goals.

“We’ve been impressed by what we’ve seen from Pieter in training so far and he will provide another key attacking option for us this season.

“It’s fantastic to have added another talented and hungry WA player to our squad and we’re looking forward to seeing him seize this opportunity.

“We’d like to thank Perth Azzurri for the role they have played in enabling Pieter to take this next step in his football career.”

Further ALM squad announcements will be made shortly.
