Glory set for away clash with Moreton City Excelsior in Australia Cup Round of 16

Glory were handed an away Round of 16 tie against Moreton City Excelsior in the Australia Cup draw which took place following the conclusion of the final Round of 32 games on Wednesday evening.

Although Glory came out of the hat first, Moreton City Excelsior’s status as a Member Federation club means that they will automatically host the game.

It remains to be seen whether that will be at their Wolter Park home located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane or at another venue.

Excelsior finished second in the NPL Queensland last season and are currently sitting in the same position this year having won 14 of their 19 games thus far.

They enjoyed a thumping 5-1 win over Campbelltown City to book their place in the last 16 of the Australia Cup.

Glory did, of course, see off Brisbane Roar in a Play Off to reach the Round of 32, before downing former Cup winners Melbourne City to set up the trip to Queensland which will take place later this month (exact date, kick-off time and ticket details will be confirmed shortly).

Should Glory manage to overcome Excelsior, they will face either Melbourne Victory or NWS Spirit away in the Quarter-Finals.

Success in that game would set up a home Semi-Final with either Western Sydney Wanderers or Adelaide United, or an away last-four tie against either Olympic Kingsway or Lions FC.
