Glory Roars ahead with Pre-Season Friendlies

With only three weeks remaining on the Hyundai A-League pre-season calendar, Perth Glory Football Club will head to Sydney next week to take part in a friendly hit-out against Brisbane Roar at Leichhardt Oval.

Both teams have already locked horns this season, with Glory emerging victorious thanks to a Dino Djulbic double in the RD of 32 Westfield FFA Cup in Brisbane.

Glory coach Kenny Lowe said the upcoming friendly would be a good contest and an important hit out for his team.

“We’re only 24 days out from our first game against the Central Coast Mariners so it’s a good opportunity for us to play and get valuable game time. Being at a neutral venue, it should be a good match for both teams” he said.

The match will be played on Tuesday September 20 at 3pm and will be closed to the public.

Before next week’s match, the club can confirm it will meet a combined Inglewood United/ Floreat Athena FC outfit from the WA-NPL competition on Friday night (September 16) at Inglewood Stadium.

United narrowly lost the local NPL Grand Final at the weekend while Floreat Athena enjoyed a good season winning the State Cup final.

Kick-off against the combined NPL teams is at 7.30pm and entry is free.

Glory will host the Mariners on October 8 at nib Stadium where the team will wear its new Heritage Jersey which has been designed to commemorate the club’s 20th anniversary in domestic football.
