The Match Review Panel (MRP) has today confirmed that Glory midfielder Ella Mastrantonio will serve a three-match suspension after being sent off in Sunday’s Liberty A-League victory over Wellington Phoenix at Macedonia Park.
Match referee Caisey Reibelt showed straight red cards to both Mastrantonio and Wellington’s Emma Rolston after the two clashed close to the centre-circle in the 35th minute.
The MRP determined that both Mastrantonio and Rolston had committed the offence of “Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball) or against any other person other than a Match Official, including attempted Assault”.
The club has until 11am WST on Tuesday 17 January to notify the MRP of any intention to appeal its proposed match sanction.
