Perth Glory FC will travel to Brisbane to face Lions FC in its Round of 16 Westfield FFA Cup match up.
Glory progressed to the Round of 16 after last night’s dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over the Newcastle Jets at Magic Park.
The inaugural finalists showed great determination and grit overcoming the Novocastrians in Broadmeadow and will need to do the same against a spirited Lions FC outfit.
The Lions defeated Adelaide’s Croydon Kings 2-1 on Matchday three in the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup and will be keen to test their wares against their more fancied Hyundai A-League opponent.
New CEO, Peter Filopoulos, said the Club was relishing a trip to Brisbane to take on the Lions.
“It’s great that we’ve progressed in the Westfield FFA Cup after being pushed all the way last night. Newcastle provided a really tough test, but now the focus turns to Brisbane and Lions FC,” he said.
“I’m excited for the game, and I’m sure Kenny and the squad will be as well. Lions FC showed Australia that they can play quality football, and we’ve shown that we can too. It’ll be a great game.”
At this stage, the match is scheduled to take place on either August 25 or August 26.
For members and fans, scheduling and ticket information will be distributed by the Club in the coming days.
