Glory land experienced ALM winger Mileusnic

Perth Glory is delighted to announce that experienced A-League Men’s winger Nikola Mileusnic has signed a one-year deal with the club.

Now 30, Mileusnic has played nearly 150 A-League games since debuting for Adelaide United in 2016, scoring 25 goals and providing 17 assists.

A double-Australia Cup winner during his four seasons with the Reds, he also helped Randers FC to domestic cup success while plying his trade in Denmark.

Having featured in all 27 games for Brisbane Roar last season, scoring five goals and contributing five assists in the process, he is now looking forward to helping to reignite Glory in 2024/25.

“After initially engaging with the club, I felt like they really knew the direction they wanted to go in and how to get there,” he said.

“Speaking to [Head Coach] David Zdrilic, the way he wants his team to set up and play I feel really suits me as a player and the way I see the game and like to play.

“I feel that I can contribute positively to the team on and off the field and I can’t wait to get there, meet the boys and get started.”

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis is a long-standing admirer of Mileusnic and believes he will be an exciting attacking outlet in the coming season.

“Nikola was one of the first players I targeted to bring to the club and I’m thrilled that we got him over the line,” he said.

“I thought we lacked pace going forward last season and he provides that, plus he is a player who is reliable, stays fit and is really hungry.”

Zdrilic also believes that the new recruit can make a major impact in purple.

“Nikola really fits the system that we will be employing this season and he brings a level of experience which will benefit the whole squad,” he said.

“Versatile enough to play as an out-and-out winger or as a striker, he has the ability to provide ammunition for our other attacking threats and also get in behind and score himself.”

Born in Adelaide, Mileusnic joined the Reds’ youth set-up in 2012 after impressing with both White City and Adelaide City at NPL SA level and four years later enjoyed his first taste of senior action in a home draw with Brisbane Roar.

He went on to spend four seasons with United, scoring in the 2017 and 2019 FFA Cup Finals and also finding the net 14 times in the A-League.

An overseas move to Randers FC of the Danish Superliga followed in 2020 and during his time in Scandinavia, the livewire winger helped the East Jutland club secure the Cup for just the second time in their history, along with a fifth-place league finish.

Glory’s latest signing then returned to Australia to link up with Brisbane Roar and between 2021 and 2024, made more than 60 appearances for the Queenslanders.

The following players are now under contract for 2024/25: Oli Sail, Cameron Cook, Robbie Cook, Josh Risdon, Riley Warland, Anas Hamzaoui, Lachlan Barr, Kaelan Majekodunmi, Andriano Lebib, Zach Lisolajski, Jacob Muir, Luke Bodnar, Jarrod Carluccio, Trent Ostler, Mustafa Amini, Brandon O’Neill, Nicholas Pennington, Taras Gomulka, Hiroaki Aoyama, Jaylan Pearman, Will Freney, Khoa Ngo, Joel Anasmo, Adam Bugarija, Adam Taggart, David Williams, Nathanael Blair, Abdelelah Faisal, Nikola Mileusnic.
