The unpredictable nature of the Hyundai A-League was in full swing on Sunday evening, as Perth Glory fell 4-0 to Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.

Glory went into the match missing the Fox Sports “Alex Tobin” medallist in Spanish marquee Diego Castro and speedy winger Chris Harold however the result proved a reality check for the Western Australians as they head into the finals.

Glory had won 10 of its past 11 matches in the Hyundai A-League before the Round 27 clash.

David Carney and Filip Holosko found the back of the net in the first half, before Ali Abbas and Milos Ninkovic sealed the result late in the second period. Sydney’s marquee man Filip Holosko was also sent off for two bookable offences in the 78th minute.

Glory finish the Hyundai A-League season in 5th position, after sitting as low as 10th earlier in the campaign.

The boys from the West now face Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Sunday April 17, in the second elimination final.
