Despite wet and windy conditions, a large contingent of Glory Members and fans were on hand to see Alen Stajcic’s side start brightly, with David Williams striking the post and home ‘keeper David Keenan producing a fine save to keep out Luke Ivanovic’s well-struck effort.

There was nothing Keenan could do about Glory’s 26th-minute opener, however, Ivanovic playing in Taggart who clamly slid home his fifth goal in two pre-season outings.

Ivanovic then came agonisingly close to adding a goal to his assist when his fierce shot cannoned back out off the underside of the crossbar and on the stroke of half-time, Keenan again came to his side’s rescue by pushing a Mark Beevers strike around the post.

The opening 15 minutes of the second half saw Glory effectively take the game away from the spirited hosts as Giordano Colli found the net twice.

His first goal came after the midfielder’s quick feet proved too much for the Kingsway defence and his low shot arrowed its way into the bottom corner and his second arrived direct from a corner which Keenan could only spill into his own net.

As he did against Stirling Macedonia last time out, Stajcic opted to make a raft of changes on the hour-mark, with a number of trialists being given the chance to impress.

Kingsway also cleared their bench and one of those substitutes, Lebib Lebib, reduced the arrears with 23 minutes left, much to the delight of the home fans.

As the lashing rain returned in the latter stages, Adrian Sinagra denied former Glory Academy defender Ollie Annis with a sharp, one-handed save and the final chance of a lively encounter then came at the other end where Daniel Bennie scooped an Adam Zimarino cross over the bar.
