Perth Glory has finalised details for the transfer of defender Dino Djulbic to second division German side Rot Weiss Ahlen.
Djulbic has been in Germany for the past week and completed a successful trial. He previously played for the Ahlen based club as a junior (1999 – 2001) before making the move to Western Australia with his family.
In two seasons at Perth Glory Djulbic played 26 matches and won ‘Best Clubman- to cap off a terrific debut campaign in 2007/08.
Perth Glory and Rot Weiss Ahlen have agreed to a transfer fee that will allow the 25 year old to pursue a career in the 2. Bundesliga.
“Dino expressed a strong desire to find a new challenge and we thank him for his contribution to Perth Glory over the past two seasons and wish him well in a new chapter of his football career,” Perth Glory CEO Scott Gooch said.
“While we allowed for this transfer to take place we-re still very much of the opinion that the Hyundai A-League and Perth Glory is the best place for talented Australians to develop and play in a quality competition and at a strong club,” Mr Gooch said.
Meanwhile, Perth striker Nikita Rukavytsya is continuing his trial with Dutch first division side FC Twente.
