Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that Bruno Fornaroli has signed a two-year extension to his contract which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2022/23 A-League season.

The Uruguayan has made a huge contribution to the Glory cause since arriving in 2019, scoring 13 goals in each of the subsequent two seasons to twice claim the club’s Golden Boot and being named joint-winner of the Most Glorious Player Award last year.

The free-scoring forward, who has now made a total of 54 A-League appearances for Glory, is relishing the prospect of continuing his spell here in the West.

“I’m very grateful to the club,” he said, “and am excited about helping to bring the success that Glory and its Members and fans deserve.

“My family and I love it here in Perth and I am really looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

“I would like to thank the Members and fans for all their support and I can’t wait to see everyone back at HBF Park next season.”

Glory Head Coach Richard Garcia, meanwhile, was quick to highlight the contribution that Fornaroli makes both on the field and within the squad at a wider level.

“He’s a big part of the group who continually proves himself on and off the park to be a true leader,” he said.

“Especially this season, with all the challenges that we faced, he showed his true value both as a player and as a person who will always work hard for the team.”

Glory CEO Tony Pignata believes that the former Sampdoria and Panathinaikos man will have a key role to play in the club’s bid to secure sustained success.

“Bruno’s goalscoring record speaks for itself and he remains one of the very best strikers we’ve ever seen in the A-League,” he said.

“Securing the services of a player of his quality for the next two years is a huge positive for Glory and I’m sure our Members and fans are looking forward to watching him lead from the front once again as part of the project we are implementing to drive the club forward.”

Further A-League signing announcements are expected in the near future.
