The PGFC Academy First Team were edged out 1-0 for the second time in as many games on Saturday as Stirling Macedonia prevailed in a hard-fought clash at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
What proved to be the winning goal arrived on the half-hour mark, Calvin Whitney whipping a low free-kick around the Glory wall and into the bottom corner.
John Walmsley’s side applied some concerted second-half pressure in their bid to find an equaliser, but late efforts from Alex Bolton and Tadiwanashe Kuzamba both crept the wrong side of the crossbar.
There was better news for the Under-18s and Under-20s who both remain firmly in title contention after picking up maximum points.
The 18s started the day off in spectacular style, TadiwaShaun Mutyavaviri (3), Cristiano Farfan (2), Oliver Evans (2), Jack Lennon and Max Naylor sharing the goals in a 9-1 victory.
And the 20s followed that up by securing a 2-1 win courtesy of efforts from Max Argent and Alfie Knight.
All three teams are at home again next weekend, this time against Western Knights.
The kick-off times for these games will return to normal, with the 18s in action at 11am, followed by the 20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
Do get along and support the lads if you can.
