Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that teenage attacking midfielders Sebastian Despotovski and Oliver Evans have both signed two-year scholarship contracts with the club.
Son of Glory legend Bobby Despotovski, 19-year-old Sebastian was rewarded for his standout performances for the PGFC Academy First Team with an A-League debut in the final game of the 2024/25 season and is currently the third highest scorer in this year’s NPL WA with eight goals.
17-year-old Evans, meanwhile, has also found the net on ten occasions for the PGFC Academy Under-20s this term, having impressed consistently during his rise through the club’s younger age groups.
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that both players have extremely bright futures ahead of them.
“We have very high hopes for Seb and Ollie,” he said.
“Seb is a real natural talent who is developing into a very versatile midfielder capable of influencing games from a number of different positions.
“Having only just turned 17, Ollie is not quite as far along in his development journey, but has already managed to establish himself as a livewire attacking player with huge potential.
“The coaching they have received within our PGFC Academy system has played a key role in the development of both players and we are excited to see how they continue to progress in the next two years.”
“The PGFC Academy is a critical pillar for the long-term sustainability of our football club and we are committed to nurturing young West Australian players and giving them the opportunity to represent their home-state club,” added Glory Vice-Chairman Jason Bontempo.
“Seb and Ollie are the latest examples of the great work being carried out in this vital area.”
Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
