Enrolment is now underway at PGFC Academy School, St. Andrew’s Grammar.
A number of the club’s Academy coaching staff, including Academy Director Steven McGarry, Academy and W-League Manager Terry McFlynn and Academy U-12 Coach/St. Andrew’s Perth Glory Academy Coach Jesse Hesford, visited the Dianella school last week where they met with teachers and pupils.
St. Andrew’s Principal Craig Monaghan was also present and he was quick to note that the new partnership with the PGFC Academy has been extremely well-received by everyone associated with the school.
”We are very excited about this week’s trials for places in the Perth Glory Academy,” he said.
“We have had an excellent response. The fact that many of our young and up-and-coming students are keen to develop their skills in this program means that the future certainly looks bright.
“We have had a number of approaches from students who want access to our school because of the Perth Glory Academy, which is excellent to see.
“Those that I spoke to like the fact that we were not only focusing on honing excellent football skills, but also well-balanced young adults who leave with an outstanding academic record.”
Those sentiments were echoed by Glory Football Director Jacob Burns.
“We have been delighted by the response we’ve seen at St. Andrew’s,” he said.
“The partnership is an exciting one that we’re very proud of and are confident will be hugely successful.
“The program ensures that talented young players are given the best possible chance to progress in the game, while also fulfilling their academic potential.
“St. Andrew’s pupils will now have access to an elite professional coaching environment that is unique in WA and allied to a clear, structured pathway towards a career in the game.”
