Perth Glory players have thanked their members and fans for the awesome support they received yesterday against Wellington Phoenix.
The pulsating atmosphere was described as ‘electric- and ‘loud- as Perth Glory maintained their perfect start to the season.
“The noise was just like the Glory days,” Perth Glory defender Scott Neville said.
“I grew up coming to Glory games and the support we got yesterday was as loud as ever.
New signings Shane Smeltz, Travis Dodd, Bas van den Brink and Danny Vukovic also enjoyed the parochial Glory support.
“It was buzzing,” Smeltz, the game-s only goal scorer said.
“Our fans are brilliant. It-s only my second home game and I-m already looking forward to the next one against Sydney.”
The fans also came dressed in purple, sporting the club-s new home and away shirts plus the NO GUTS, NO GLORY tee-shirts.
“The whole stadium had an electric feel,” Vukovic said.
“Everywhere you looked, you could see purple and the flags behind the goals were great.
“Thanks to our members and fans it was truly special.”
