“My coach won’t like me for saying this, but I watch a lot more football than AFL.”
So says Stephen Coniglio, the man revealed as Glory’s #1 Season Ticket Holder in Yagan Square, the heart of Perth, earlier today.
Not that the statement will come a surprise to anyone who knows the 27-year-old Perth Hills local.
For although he has established himself as one of the AFL’s most prodigiously talented midfielders, the current GWS skipper and 2020 AFL All-Stars representative is a lifelong Glory fan and all-round football tragic.
In terms of his childhood heroes, Coniglio worshipped at the altar of Despotovski and Mori rather than Cousins and Kerr and has frequently expressed his admiration for current Glory skipper, Diego Castro.
But rather than us explain his passion for Glory and the world game in general, how about we let our #1 Season Ticket Holder speak for himself?
