Club Statement from CEO Anthony Radich

Perth Glory CEO, Anthony Radich, has today issued the following statement on behalf of the club:

“I am deeply concerned by the multiple reports the club has received regarding the behaviour of venue security staff during Saturday evening’s game against Newcastle Jets at HBF Park and will be investigating these reports with the venue as a matter of the utmost urgency.

“The club’s number one priority is to ensure a safe and enjoyable matchday experience for ALL its Members and fans.

“A collaborative and proactive working relationship with the venue and the relevant authorities is vital, underpinned by the implementation of reasonable and proportionate measures and actions which must be managed in a careful and considered manner.

“Active support is at the very heart of football culture and is what makes our game truly unique and special.

“As a club, we want to harness this and help it grow and we will work tirelessly with all the key stakeholders, both locally and nationally, to help develop a greater awareness and understanding of this culture and its importance.

“While Perth Glory does not in any way condone anti-social or unlawful behaviour, a better understanding of the nature of active support is essential in order to prevent further issues arising at future games.”
