Bruno Fornaroli has praised the atmosphere in the Glory camp ahead of the squad’s trip to Qatar for the resumption of the AFC Champions League campaign.
The travelling party is due to fly to Doha on Saturday before locking horns with Shanghai Shenhua at Education City Stadium on Wednesday (kick-off at 6pm WST).
And although there are a host of new faces in the squad, the Uruguayan striker feels that a close bond has already been formed.
“The atmosphere is good,” he said.
“There are big smiles in the changing room.
“We have a good connection with the coach and the staff, which is great.
“I know Richie [Garcia] from last year.
“He’s a good coach and a good man and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Fornaroli is also looking forward to Glory pitting their wits against some of Asia’s most powerful clubs.
“It will be great to play against these big teams,” he said.
“We know that there are some very good teams, but it’s great to play against them and it will be a good experience for us, especially the young players.
“It’s a new year with a new coach, new staff and new players, so it will be good for everyone to get to Qatar, play some games and get a good system going.
“I’m going there to win, but I understand the reality that there have been many changes.
“So we will go there to compete and do our best and also make sure that we’re ready for the A-League season.”
In terms of the team’s schedule, meanwhile, the 2019/20 Joint-MGP winner has no qualms about the games coming thick and fast.
“I love playing more than training, so for me, it’s great,” he said.
“It’s just play and recover, play and recover and that’s what they do in the biggest leagues around the world.”
All of Glory’s games will be shown live on Fox Sports.
