Boi back in action

Perth Glory-s young guns are confident and ready to battle it out with reigning National Youth League champions Sydney FC at ME Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Glory-s squad will be bolstered by the inclusion of speedy attacker Ludovic Boi who returns to the team after missing two weeks with a hamstring strain.

Boi has been a stand out for Perth this season, his creativity and goal scoring nous terrorising defences and also earning him a Hyundai A-League debut against Melbourne Victory a fortnight ago.

“I-m really glad to be back in the squad. There-s not much you can do about injuries when they happen, it comes with the territory,” Boi said.

“The injury came at a pretty bad time because it meant I missed out on travelling with the first team to Wellington and I also missed out on playing with the youth team against Melbourne last weekend so that was disappointing.

“It was very exciting getting the opportunity to play with the first team. I was looking forward to getting out on the pitch in front of a massive home crowd.

“There were a lot of nerves before the game but it was a great experience and one I hope to have again soon,” Boi said.

Five of Perth Glory-s youth squad made the jump to the Hyundai A-League after the inaugural NYL campaign and Boi is determined to follow in their footsteps.

“I guess it-s the goal of all the youth boys to be selected for the first team. I-m happy to come back with the youth squad, train hard and hopefully get another gig with the senior guys.”

After a loss against Melbourne at home last weekend Perth are determined to rebound on Sunday against a strong Sydney outfit and Boi said the side is up for the challenge.

“Winning is obviously the most important thing and we want the three points. Sydney is a proven side having won the youth league last year.

“They-re a tough team to beat but we-ve got a good squad as well and I think we-ll get one up on them this time.”
