Big win keeps Night Series hopes alive

The PGFC Academy First Team remain in the hunt for a Night Series semi-final berth after a rousing 5-3 win over Sorrento FC at Inglewood Stadium on Sunday evening.

Luke Ivanovic, Stefan Colakovski, Matthew Hatch, Khoa Ngo and Jayden Gorman all got on the scoresheet against the Gulls to take Glory’s Group B points tally to six from four games.

John Walmsley’s side face Cockburn City on Sunday (at Inglewood Stadium – kick-off at 5pm) and should they pick up maximum points and Olympic Kingsway lose to group leaders Inglewood United, they would pip the Green Machine for second spot.

Glory could technically also make the semis if they won and the Inglewood United – Olympic Kingsway game ended in a draw, but they would require an improbably large swing in goal difference in order to do so.

Either way, it’s shaping up to be an exciting finale to the group stage of the competition, so do get along to Inglewood Stadium on Sunday to support the youngsters if you can!
