Baysie up next for unbeaten Academy First Team

The PGFC Academy First Team will be out to continue their flying start to the new NPL WA campaign on Saturday when they visit Frank Drago Reserve to tackle Bayswater City (kick-off at 3pm).

John Walmsley’s side have taken maximum points from their opening two fixtures, downing Balcatta Etna 2-1 on opening day and following that up with a thrilling 4-3 home victory over Armadale SC last weekend.

Corey Sutherland has led the way with three goals, ably assisted by impressive displays from his Australia Under-17s colleague, Daniel Bennie, James Overy and Matt George.

The success of the side is all the more impressive given that the average age of the line-up against Armadale was just 17.5.

Standing in their way this weekend will be a Bayswater City outfit still looking for their first point of the season having suffered consecutive defeats at the hands of Sorrento and Cockburn City.

To add a little extra spice to the occasion, the game will mark Walmsley’s first return to Frank Drago Reserve since departing City to take charge of the Academy First Team.

Ahead of the First Team game, the club’s Under-18s and Under-20s will also be looking to make it three wins from three, with their games getting underway at 11am and 1pm respectively.

Do get along and support the lads if you can!
