The PGFC Academy First Team were unable to secure an NPL WA double over Balcatta Etna on Saturday as the northern suburbs side ran out 3-1 winners at Lark Hill.
The first goal arrived shortly before half-time when Ben Ford slotted home from close range and on the hour-mark they doubled their advantage as Kotarto Yamamoto’s low shot eluded Luca Iovene in the Glory goal.
The hosts pushed hard to claw their way back into the game in the final quarter, only to be dealt another blow nine minutes from time when Ben Hinshelwood’s shot deflected off the luckless Lucas Cook and looped into the net.
John Walmsley’s side did at least manage a consolation effort in stoppage-time, Aiki Tsukamoto staking his claim for Goal of the Week by arrowing a superb strike into the roof of the net from outside the box.

Those results saw the Under-18s maintain their lead at the top of the table and the Under-20s replace Perth SC at the summit of their ladder on goal difference.
All three teams are in NPL WA action away at Armadale SC next Saturday (17th June), with the Under-18s getting things underway at Alfred Skeet Reserve at 11am, followed by the Under-20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
