Armiento has contract terminated by mutual consent

Perth Glory can confirm that forward Carlo Armiento has had his contract terminated by mutual consent to allow him to take up an opportunity elsewhere.

The 23-year-old joined the club in 2019 and made 26 ISUZU UTE A-League appearances over the next two seasons, scoring three goals.

He unfortunately sustained an ACL injury during pre-season training last year and was subsequently ruled out for the entire 2021/22 campaign.

Glory Head Coach Ruben Zadkovich was quick to praise the South Australian for the contribution he made to the club on and off the field during his time in the West.

“Carlo is a top person first and foremost,” he said, “and is very well respected at this club and also in this group of players.

“He expressed his desire to pursue another opportunity elsewhere and we respected his wishes as we couldn’t guarantee him the regular first team football he wanted off the back of his long-term injury.

“We wish him all the best in his career and future endeavours.”

Those sentiments were echoed by Head of Recruitment, Andy Keogh.

“We will miss Carlo very much,” he said.

“Due to the way he conducted himself throughout his time at Glory, we had no hesitation in allowing him an opportunity to search for more regular first-team football after his spell on the sidelines last season.

“We wish him well and will always welcome him back to Perth with open arms.”

Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
