The PGFC Academy First Team maintained their unbeaten start to the new NPL WA campaign as they fought out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Floreat Athena at the Sam Kerr Football Centre on Saturday.
The visitors came into the game buoyed by a surprise win over Perth RedStar in Round One and hit the front with just six minutes on the clock, Nick Ambrogio firing in from point-blank range after the Glory defence had been unable to clear a Kyle Murray corner.
But the youngsters reacted well to that early setback and levelled things up on the half-hour mark when Jaylan Pearman climbed above his marker to nod home a deep cross delivered by Samuel Barry.
Both sides created further chances as the game wore on, but ultimately neither were able to grab the go-ahead goal.
Earlier in the day, meanwhile, the Under-18s made it two wins from two as they edged home 1-0, courtesy of TadiswaShaun Mutyavaviri’s second goal in as many games.
And the Under-20s also claimed maximum points for a second successive week as first-half efforts from Alfie Knight and Sam Byrne helped them to a 2-1 victory.
All three teams are next in action on Saturday (30th April) when they will head to Grindleford Reserve to take on Balcatta Etna FC.
The Under-18s are in action at 11am, followed by the Under-20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
Do get along and support the lads if you can!
