Academy First Team eye return to top spot

The PGFC Academy First Team could return to the top of the NPL WA table should they win away at Inglewood United on Saturday (kick-off at 3pm) and results elsewhere go their way.

John Walmsley’s side slipped to a first defeat of the campaign last weekend, eventually going down 2-1 to Perth SC having battled bravely with ten men for much of the second-half after Corey Sutherland received his marching orders.

They will be up against an Inglewood outfit which has secured just one win from its four games this term and was beaten 3-1 at home by Bayswater City last time out.

Ahead of the First Team game, the Under-18s will get things underway at 11am seeking a fifth successive win to maintain their 100% start to the year.

They will be followed at 1pm by the Under-20s who will be targeting a return to winning ways having been edged out 2-1 by Perth SC in Round 4.

Good luck to all three Academy senior teams – do get along and support the lads if you can!
